Toyota Announces Prices for 2003 Camry Sedan, Prius, RAV4, and Highlander

TORRANCE, Calif., Aug. 22 - Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., today announced 2003 manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRP) for the Camry sedan, Prius gas/electric hybrid sedan, RAV4 compact sport utility vehicle (SUV), and the Highlander mid-size SUV, which arrive at dealer showrooms on August 24. All four vehicles retain their excellent value with prices unchanged from the previous model year.

Camry, America's best-selling passenger car, actually improves its value for 2003. A remote keyless entry system, previously standard-equipped only on the premium XLE grade, is now also standard on all LE and SE grades. Additionally, the XLE now includes standard-equipped fog lamps and a six-disc CD changer.

The base MSRP for all Camry sedans remains unchanged from last year, with prices ranging from $18,970 for the LE grade with a four-cylinder engine and five-speed manual transmission to $25,405 for the top-of-the-line XLE V6 with a four-speed electronically controlled transmission with intelligence.

The revolutionary Prius five-passenger sedan was the world's first mass-produced gas/electric hybrid vehicle and is currently the best-selling in the U.S.-market, with sales surpassing 30,000 units since its U.S. launch in July 2000. For 2003, Prius will continue to provide outstanding value with a base MSRP of $19,995, unchanged from last year.

The Toyota Highlander started a new segment for mid-size SUVs that emphasized car-like handling and ride comfort over rugged off-highway use. Available in six configurations with two engines and two drive systems, the Highlander was one of the first models in its segment to match SUV flexibility to premium sedan performance and ride comfort.

For 2003, base prices for Highlander have been held to 2002 levels. Highlander's base MSRP ranges from $23,880 for the 2WD four-cylinder model to $26,860 for the 4WD V6. MSRP for the Highlander Limited models begins at $29,395 for the 2WD and $30,795 for the 4WD.

The RAV4 compact SUV receives a new optional Sport Package that combines bold, exclusive design features with the most popular comfort and convenience options. The new Sport package includes a new grille, a hood scoop, color-keyed door handles, and gray-painted bumpers and overfenders. A tubular roof rack with polished stainless steel finish adds style and function. Special sport fabric seats are exclusive to this new package, which also includes heated exterior mirrors and sport badging. A $1,000 discount is applied to the new Sport Package, as well as two existing extra value packages, the Quick Order Package and the Upgrade "L" Package.

Base MSRPs for all RAV4 models remain unchanged from last year. The base price for the 4x2 RAV4 ranges from $16,525 for the five-speed manual transmission to $17,575 for the automatic transmission. Base prices for the 4x4 RAV4 ranges from $17,925 with a manual transmission to $18,975 for the automatic.
