Brumos Adds Borkowski to Daytona Prototype Lineup JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (August 22, 2002) -- Brumos Porsche Racing recently announced that Mike Borkowski has signed with the team to drive the #59 Porsche-powered FABCAR Daytona Prototype during the 2003 Rolex Sports Car Series season. He will partner with David Donahue in the Brumos Daytona Prototype. Borkowski is a long time road racer whose resume includes several top-five Rolex 24 At Daytona finishes, Pro Sports 2000 and Pro Formula 2000 titles and the 1997 Trans Am Rookie of the Year award. "I have been anxious to get back into a top sports car program. I am honored to become a part of the Brumos organization," said Borkowski. "The Brumos team's success in sports car racing is unparalleled. I am looking forward to helping them continue with their winning tradition." His experience, ranging from Quarter Midgets through NASCAR, gives him the necessary perspective to help launch the Porsche FABCAR directly into Victory Lane." ********************************************************************************* Doran, FunTech Bodywork Designs Approved DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Daytona Prototypes Project Manager Mark Raffauf announced that the Daytona Prototype bodywork designs submitted by Doran Enterprises and Fundamental Technologies (FunTech) have been approved for construction. Doran and FunTech become the fifth and sixth constructors to have their Daytona Prototype bodywork designs approved, joining FABCAR Engineering, Picchio SpA, Carbir Race Cars and Crawford Race Cars. Ohio-based Doran Enterprises will construct the JE4, which had its chassis designs approved earlier this year. Owner Kevin Doran is well established as a builder and preparer of race cars ranging from NASCAR Super Trucks to Indy cars, but is best known for his sports car accomplishments, which include four Rolex 24 At Daytona victories as team manager. Fundamental Technologies, headquartered in Central Florida, will build the FT-2 to contest the Daytona Prototype class. Two-time American GT champions Flis Motorsports, of Ormond Beach, Fla., was announced as the first official distributor of the FT-2 when FunTech's chassis designs were approved earlier this summer. ********************************************************************************* FABCAR Chassis Now Rolling INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- FABCAR Engineering now has one of its chassis equipped with an engine and wheels.
