18-year-old, Chase Montgomery, one of the hottest up-and-coming drivers in the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) RE/MAX Series, will be competing for top honors at the Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday, September 7.
Montgomery is Tough on Speedways
Montgomery astounded the racing world when he qualified on the pole for the 2001 Discount Auto Parts 200 at Daytona International Speedway. At the age of 18, he became the youngest pole sitter in the history of "The World Center of Racing".
Six of Montgomery's Top-10 finishes have been on tracks that are 1.5-mile or more in length. The ReadyHosting.com 200 will be Montgomery's first time at the Chicagoland Speedway.
Rookie Has Eight Top-10 Finishes In 2002/Four "Highest Finishing Rookie" Awards
Montgomery has picked up eight Top-10 finishes thus far this season. In his first full ARCA season, the rookie is quickly learning how to successfully get around the short and intermediate tracks, as well as the super speedways.
In Contention for ARCA Rookie and Overall Championship Honors
Montgomery is currently second in the ARCA Rookie of the Year standings. He is fourth in the overall driver championship point standings. In his first full season in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, Montgomery is setting his sites on the top honors.
Strong Straight Out of the Box
In Montgomery's first seven ARCA starts, he posted one top-five finish; two top-10 finishes and has qualified for the front row at Daytona, Kentucky and Lowe's.
