Open-Cockpit Prototype Rides at VIR 500 Media Day
What: The Rolex Sports Car Series and Virginia International Raceway will host a Media Day to kick off the VIR 500 weekend. In addition to driver interviews and the chance to see Rolex Series and Grand-Am Cup cars testing, rides will be available on VIR's 3.27-mile road course in race cars, including an open-cockpit SportsRacing Prototype II.

Schedule: 11:30 a.m. Driver & Official Interviews
Noon Driver Suit & Helmet Fitting
12:15 p.m. Media Rides Begin
1:15 p.m. Lunch
2:00 p.m. Facility Tours
Who: Nearly all of the leading drivers in the Rolex Series will be on hand during testing, including 2002 Rolex 24 At Daytona winners Didier Theys, Terry Borcheller, Anthony Lazzaro and Kevin Buckler.
Cars: Media rides will be available in several different types of race cars from the Rolex Sports Car Series and Grand-Am Cup Street Stock Series, including G&W Motorsports' open-cockpit #70 BMW-powered Picchio and #81 Porsche GT3 R and Team Lexus' #2 Lexus GS400.
