Saturn Honors 11 Retailers For Exceptional Performance

DETROIT - Saturn Corporation is honoring 11 of its retailers with its prestigious Summit Award. The award recognizes excellence in multiple areas including, community involvement and sales and service performance.

"All Saturn retailers are known for their commitment to customer enthusiasm, no-haggle/no-hassle pricing strategy and creating the Saturn difference," says Jill Lajdziak, vice president of Saturn Sales, Service and Marketing. "You might say the Saturn Summit Award is given to the best of the best."

Recipients of the 2002 Summit Award are:
Saturn of Cedar Rapids --- Hiawatha, IA
Saturn of Dundee --- East Dundee, IL
Saturn of Mansfield --- Mansfield, OH
Saturn of Michiana --- Mishawaka, IN
Saturn of Okemos --- Okemos, MI
Saturn of Raynham --- Raynham, MA
Saturn of Riverdale --- Riverdale, UT
Saturn of Schaumburg --- Hoffman Estates, IL
Saturn of St. George --- St. George, UT
Saturn of Traverse City --- Traverse City, MI

Recently, Saturn earned first place ranking in the 2002 J.D. Power Customer Service Index, the first non-luxury brand to top the study since 1986. Saturn is also the top ranked nameplate in the 2002 J.D. Power & Associates Sales Satisfaction Study. The corporation has finished first in this study seven out of the last eight years. Saturn is the only non-luxury brand to have earned top ranking in both Customer Service Index and Sales Satisfaction Index. In the history of the study, the only other brand that earned both top achievements simultaneously was Lexus in 1994.

"Saturn retailers have helped to make customer satisfaction a pillar of the brand, said Lajdziak. "Saturn's reputation for outstanding customer satisfaction and an exciting new product line up that includes the all-new VUE, redesigned 2003 L-Series and the upcoming ION make Saturn poised for the future."

"In true Saturn style, the Summit Award recognizes the entire team at each of the honored retail facilities. The Saturn Summit Award is designed to encourage teamwork, partnership and excellence," says Corey Green, UAW liaison to Sales, Service and Marketing.

Saturn Corporation entered the automotive market in 1990, bringing a new level of customer service to automotive retailing. It was created through a unique partnership between General Motors and the UAW. Saturn and its 438 retailers share a strong focus on customer service.
