Sales Up Downunder

SYDNEY, Aug 20 Reuters reported that the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday new motor vehicle sales rose 1.9 percent in July, seasonally adjusted.

In July, 67,999 vehicles were sold compared with 66,739 during the previous month. Sales of new passenger vehicles fell 0.8 percent while other vehicles rose 7.1 percent.

The figures are based on industry sales data provided by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries in its monthly VFACTS report.
