Molex Incorporated Appoints Joe W. Laymon to Board of Directors
LISLE, Ill.--Aug. 19, 2002--Molex Incorporated , a global electronic components company, today announced that it has appointed Joe W. Laymon as a Director. Mr. Laymon is a vice president, Corporate Human Resources and vice president of Ford Motor Company. His election expands the Molex Board to twelve directors, including seven outside directors."We are pleased to welcome Joe Laymon to Molex's Board of Directors," said Fred A. Krehbiel, Co-Chairman. "His expertise and outstanding leadership in human resources will be a major benefit to Molex as we continue to grow our business globally."
Mr. Laymon joined Ford Motor Company as executive director, Human Resources Business Operations in March 2000 and was promoted to his present position in November 2001. Prior to joining Ford, he worked for the U.S. State Department with assignments in Zaire and Washington, D.C. He joined Xerox Corporation in 1979 and spent 17 years there, serving in several senior human resources positions. He then went to Kodak where he held positions as a director and a vice president within human resources.
Mr. Laymon is an active board member of organizations that include the American Society of Employers, the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering, Inc. and the Douglas A. Fraser Center for Workplace Issues. Educated in economics, he holds a bachelor's degree from Jackson State University and a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin.
