Alex Job Racing - Mosport race

Alex Job Racing finished third and sixth in the GT class after a tough race 
at Mosport International Raceway.  Pole-winner Lucas Luhr fell ill on the eve 
of the race, so his co-driver Sascha Maassen started the No. 23 McKenna 
Xybernaut Porsche and drove the first and third stints of the two-hour 
45-minute race.  Luhr drove the middle 45 minutes.  The pair led the class 
until their second pitstop.  An unlucky track position at the start of a 
caution period a few minutes later dropped them a lap behind the ultimate 
winning No. 66 Racer's Group Porsche.  During his final stint, Maassen was 
caught by an unmarked oil slick, hit the tire barrier and lost the door of 
his car.  He battled back to a pass for second place on the last lap, but was 
knocked off track by another Porsche, so settled for third in class.

Jörg Bergmeister started the No. 22 Porsche second in class, but was hit by 
the winning Audi prototype eight minutes after the start.  A 30-minute 
pitstop was required to repair the broken left-front upright and tie rod.  
Timo Bernhard drove the second stint and Bergmeister returned for the final 
drive.  The pair finished sixth in class.

Lucas Luhr  "For me it was a tough race.  I only did 45 minutes in the car 
but it was really long because I'm sick.  At the end it was fun to watch the 
race with Sascha - our car looked a little bit funny with everything missing. 
 But at the end it was still a good result because we are still leading the 
championship, so we lost nothing."

Sascha Maassen  "I braked and saw the oil and I was gone.  It was really 
quick.  First, it was - I'm okay, nothing broken, how's the car, looked fine, 
so I started it up and I was really surprised to see it driving straight.  So 
I went back to the pits, they said it was fine, and then I lost my door 
immediately when I left the pits.  So I didn't need my cooling suit anymore!"

Jörg Bergmeister  "We had bad luck at the beginning when the Audi hit me in 
the front.  The car was fine after they repaired the suspension and the lap 
times were quite good.  We could actually have gone a little bit faster.  
Sascha also had bad luck, so it was not the best weekend for Alex Job Racing."

Timo Bernhard  "It was bad luck again, so I hope next race it will change.  
We would have won easily because the 66 car was so far behind in qualifying 
and the 23 had two accidents.  Speedwise we were really good, but it doesn't 
matter.  Next race ..."
