Delphi Comments On The Passing of Stephen P. Yokich, Former President of the United Auto Workers

TROY, Mich., Aug. 16 -- The following statement is attributed to J.T. Battenberg III (Chairman, CEO and President of Delphi Corporation) regarding the passing of Stephen P. Yokich, former president of the United Auto Workers:

"Steve was a true advocate for UAW members and working people everywhere. He worked tirelessly to increase job security for them and to improve American competitiveness. I admired his passion for his work and his tenacity in getting things done. Our industry has lost one of its most vocal 'fans' and we will miss him. On behalf of our entire Delphi team, our sympathies go out to his family, the UAW, and all those who knew and admired him."
