John Kneebone Promoted to General Manager of Delco Remy Diesel Engine Business
ANDERSON, Ind., Aug. 13 -- Delco Remy International, Inc., announces the appointment of John M. Kneebone to the General Manager position at the company's Diesel Engine and components remanufacturing operations headquartered in Franklin, Indiana. He will report directly to Divakar Tailor, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Delco Remy's aftermarket group.
In 1983, Kneebone co-founded Franklin Power Products, the remanufacturing factory charged with building the Ford Power Stroke diesel engines. He has held a number of assignments in manufacturing and operations prior to the corporate acquisition by Delco Remy in 1995. He served as plant manager at FPP and Central Precision Limited, president of Marine Corporation of America and most recently, as director of Diesel Systems Sales and Market Development.
"Kneebone has directed the transition of remanufacturing processes from gasoline to diesel engines for major customers, including Ford and International," stated Tailor. "We are confident in his ability to aggressively improve the competitive value of our products, broaden our customer base and assure Delco Remy's leadership in the diesel engine aftermarket," noted Tailor.
After graduation from Ferris State University, Kneebone began his career at International Harvester Corporation in 1971, assembling diesel and gas engines. He held positions of increasing responsibility, starting as Quality Analyst and advancing to Quality Manager of remanufacturing operations, Plant Manager at Indiana Engine Renew and Baltimore Renew. Additionally, he served as Supplier Quality Manager and as Manager of Quality Engineering at International's Indianapolis Engine Plant.
