August 12, 2002 ... MINI USA has announced Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the 2003 model year MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S.

Both models feature product enhancements and undergo an increase of $125. This means that the '03 model year MINI Cooper MSRP is $16,975 and the MINI Cooper S is $19,975. Both prices include destination charges. 2003 production begins September 1, 2002. For '03, the MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S will come with a second remote key and both are pre-wired for a dealer-installed alarm system. On the interior, an anthracite trim is also available at no extra charge. This option changes the fascia, down tubes, and door bezels to a stylish smoke gray on both the Cooper and the MINI Cooper S.

The MINI Cooper S is also available with the high gloss silver interior currently found on the Cooper.

MINI's sound system will also be satellite-ready (an announcement on satellite radio will be made shortly) and will also offer the customer an auxiliary input jack to the rear to allow the direct connection of MP3 players, tape players, CD players and other auxiliary equipment.
