Coeburn, VA - Mardy Lindley, driver of the #01 Hooters Ford Taurus, scored his fourth career USAR Hooters ProCup Series win Saturday night at Lonesome Pine Raceway, during the running of the Food City 250 presented by Kinzer Drilling Co. Lindley captured the Sunoco Pole Award as he cruised around the 3/8th mile high-banked track in 16.423 seconds, with an average speed of 82.202 mph. Jeff Agnew, driver of the #73 NGA Hooters Golf Tour Chevrolet, started on the outside front row. The race, featured seven caution flags flown starting on lap six, when Charlie Ford was spun around in turn three. "This win couldn't have came at a better time," said Lindley. "My father dominated short track races and I dedicate this win to him." Lindley led 200 laps and captured the Southern Pride Lap Leader Award. He also picked up the Lucas Oil Products Halfway Award. Agnew finished second, while Jay Fogleman finished third. Defending series champion, Bobby Gill finished fourth and Shane Huffman completed the top-five positions. "Mardy's team has found something within the past few races. This car was super good, but it was a little tight in the middle of the turns. I would like to thank the people from the NGA Hooters Golf Tour because without them, we wouldn't be here," said Agnew. Agnew led 45 laps and was on Lindley's bumper throughout the race. Current Northern Division point leader Brian Ross, driver of the #42 Homes by Prairie/Poynter Drywall Ford led six laps and ran with the front runners until lap 236, when he experienced rear end problems, stopping his car in the bottom of turn two. Jamie Skinner picked up the Miller Lite Rookie of the Race Award along with his sixth place finish. W.J. Plemons Investment Hard Charger winner Kevin Love finished seventh, while Jimmy Burns, Jason McLellan, and Philip Rondeau completed the top-10. Ross is currently leading the Northern Division points; Agnew trails Ross by 171 points. Lindley remains in third position, only one point separating him and Agnew. Fogleman trails Lindley by 86 points; Philip Rondeau sits in fifth position, 66 points behind Fogleman. The next Northern Division race will be on Saturday, August 24 at Cayuga Speedway in Nelles Corner, Ontario, Canada for the running of the Lucas Oil 250 presented by SM Freight. The next race for the Southern Division will be Saturday August 17 at South Boston Speedway, in South Boston, VA for the running of the Lucas Oil 250 presented by Advanced Auto Parts.
