Yamaha Picks ARI Electronic Parts Catalog for Dealer Network; Selection Furthers ARI's Penetration in the Powersports Industry

MILWAUKEE--Aug. 12, 2002--ARI (OTCBB:ARIS), a leading provider of catalog-enabled business solutions to connect equipment manufacturers with their service and distribution networks announced today that Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. of Cypress, Calif. has licensed ARI's PartSmart(TM) electronic parts catalog software for use by its dealers.
Under the agreement, Yamaha's dealers will have the ability to use ARI's PartSmart catalog to view illustrated parts catalogs and get up-to-date, accurate parts and pricing information. Yamaha and ARI are currently working together to publish the new parts catalog for their motorcycle, snowmobile, personal watercraft, marine outboard and ATV product lines. The first catalog is expected to be ready for distribution in summer 2002.
"After a careful review of the top electronic parts catalog vendors' products and services, we selected ARI. Our decision was based on ARI's ability to provide a comprehensive, unified suite of catalog services and products that will meet our current and future needs," said Dan Caviness, assistant division manager of publications and Yamaha extended service sales for Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. "Our immediate goal is to provide our dealers with superior choices for their electronic parts catalog needs. Also, when we are ready to take more of the management and creation of our catalog content in-house, ARI's suite of catalog products and services will allow us to do just that," added Caviness.
"We are very pleased to have Yamaha, a company so well known for its products and service quality, select our electronic catalog as the basis of its parts and service information," said Brian E. Dearing, chairman and chief executive officer of ARI. "The addition of Yamaha to ARI's list of blue chip customers expands our presence in the Powersports Industry where we already create and manage catalogs for a significant number of manufacturers, including Evinrude/Johnson/Bombardier, Mercury Marine, Arctic Cat, Polaris, Kawasaki and Harley-Davidson. I believe this is a tribute not only to the quality and value of PartSmart, which is used by thousands of dealers around the world, but to the value of our strategy of providing a single, integrated family of catalog services for CD and Web applications. Manufacturers who take advantage of our full suite of catalog services can easily publish on the web as well as streamline the production of their data for distribution via PartSmart," concluded Dearing. Dearing indicated that ARI's suite of catalog products include PartSmart, EMPARTviewer(TM), EMPARTweb(TM) and EMPARTpublisher(TM).
