TEAM TARGET FINISHES SIXTH AT THE GLEN
Scott Pruett pilots Target Dodge to top-10 finish

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (August 11, 2002) - The No. 41 Target Dodge Intrepid R/T
driven by Scott Pruett finished in sixth place in the Sirius Satellite Radio
at Watkins Glen International road course.

Team Target qualified for the 90-lap road course event in 19th position. At
the start of the race, Pruett moved up through the pack and entered the
top-10 on lap 8. He continued to race in the top-10 and entered the top-5
on lap 40. During the closing laps of the race, Pruett was in third
position and racing to get past the No. 12 and No. 20 cars. With eight laps
to go, Pruett made a move on the No. 12 car but the No. 14, 31, and 28 cars
got in the mix and shuffled Pruett back to sixth place.

"We had one of the best cars, maybe not better than Tony Stewart's because
we didn't get a chance to run head to head, but we had everybody else
covered," Pruett said at the end of the race. "I knew if I could get by the
No. 12 I could take a shot at Tony. I wanted to take a shot at him, but I
didn't want to wreck him. So I wanted to make sure when I did take a shot I
could do a side-by-side deal. The only time was that last turn before coming
on the straightaway. I gave it a go and I couldn't make it stick and ended
up sixth. It was great racing, wheel-to-wheel, side-by-side. There was a lot
of give and take. I've been here sometimes when it's a lot of take and
everybody ends up wrecking. It felt like a different tone here today. A lot
of guys were racing wheel to wheel, but they also were giving each other a
little bit.

"We came here to try to win the race and instead of third we got sixth. A
top five is the next best thing. I could have rode around and finished
third, but I didn't want to just ride around. I've got the itch now. These
guys are great to race with, real top drawer. It's a lot of fun."

Tony Stewart, driver of the No. 20 Home Depot Pontiac, won the Sirius
Satellite Radio at The Glen. Next on the schedule for the No. 41 Target
Team is the Pepsi 400 at Michigan International Speedway on August 18, 2002.
Jimmy Spencer will resume driving responsibilities at this event.
