> Scribner, Neb. - Nebraska Motorplex offered two different shootouts on Saturday during the O> '> Reilly Summer Sizzle, offering its racers additional chances to earn cash prizes.  
> 	Held at every NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event in the West Central Division, KD Kanopy sponsored the first shoot-out, open to racers competing in the Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street categories.  
> 	> "> They wanted to get involved in the racer market,> ">  said Milt Gedo, driver of the KD Kanopy Super Comp dragster.  > "> I presented them with some ideas and they were intrigued with the idea of sponsoring this event.> ">      
> Approximately 120 competitors attempted to qualify from the three classes to be part of the shoot-out> '> s sixteen-car field and win a share of the $2200 purse.  Class winners and runner-ups from the previous NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series race are automatically qualified into the event.
> "> The Summer Sizzle> ">  Saturday Night Shoot-out offered competitors of the O> '> Reilly Summer Sizzle as well as local bracket racers a chance to face off against each other for a chance at $1,000.  
> Earning the win in the KD Kanopy Super Shootout was Gary Stinnett of Emporia, Kan., while Curt Harshfield of Sioux City, Iowa, took the win in > "> The Summer Sizzle> ">  Saturday Night Shoot-out.

> Scribner, Neb. - Nebraska Motorplex> '> s NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event was the final race of the season where West Central Division racers were able to earn qualifying points towards representing his/her division at the 2002 Jeg> '> s Allstars.  Held in conjunction with the Craftsman 75th Anniversary Nationals in Chicago, Sept. 26-29, 2002, points are based on in-division races only.
