SEMA's International Auto Salon Will Move to the Heart of the Sport Compact Market

DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (Aug. 7, 2002) - The International Auto Salon (IAS), SEMA's
trade and consumer show for the sport compact market, is moving its 2003 show to
the Los Angeles Convention Center. The show is set for Friday, April 25, through
Sunday, April 27.

The five-year-old show organized by SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market
Association, has outgrown the Long Beach Convention Center, its home for the past
two years, according to Gary Vigil, SEMA trade shows director.

"We needed more room for exhibits and to display the hundreds of project vehicles
which the IAS attracts," said Vigil. "Our show in Long Beach this past spring was
exciting and a success, but pretty tight. We wanted IAS to stay in California
where the sport compact performance market originated, and the Los Angeles
Convention Center, the prime convention center in a great city for our industry,
was a logical choice."

The 2002 IAS had nearly 300 project vehicles on display. Most of them were the
popular four-cylinder sport compacts customized with special wheels and
performance tires, with unique graphic and paint jobs, with enhanced audio
systems and add-on electronic games, and with performance modifications to their
engines, suspension, and brakes. Approximately 200 companies exhibited their
products at the 2002 show, which was open to professionals within the industry
Friday, and open to both trade and consumers Saturday and Sunday.

The 2003 International Auto Salon will have a similar schedule, according to
Vigil. He added, "We'll have a few surprises at the 2003 Salon, too. This
promises to be our best International Auto Salon yet."
