ENRG Opens $2.5MM Natural Gas Fueling Station for Foothill Transit
SEAL BEACH, Calif.--Aug. 7, 2002--ENRG, North America's leader in clean transportation, has opened a state-of-the-art CNG fueling station with a total capacity exceeding 2,100 gallons per hour as part of a long-term agreement as the natural gas fuel provider for Foothill Transit. The station was completed on time at a cost of $2.5 million. The agreement anticipates initial annual fueling of 1.5 million gallons, increasing to 2.75 million gallons in two to three years. Initially, Foothill will be fueling 66 new Orion compressed natural gas (CNG) buses as well as other vehicles."Foothill Transit, the largest municipal transit operator in Los Angeles County (second only to the regional MTA), is a recognized industry leader," said Andrew J. Foothill Transit serves the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys in the eastern portion of Southern California, handling approximately 17 million boardings annually along 27 lines.
