AVX Corporation Files a Complaint Against Cabot Corporation Related to Tantalum Supply Agreement

    MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.--Aug. 5, 2002--AVX Corporation announced today that it has filed a complaint against Cabot Corporation (Cabot) in the U.S. District Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with respect to its existing supply agreement with Cabot for tantalum powder, ore and wire.

    The complaint filed by AVX claims unfair and deceptive trade practices by Cabot, breach of contract, and other related matters.
