Metro Detroit Ford Dealers Bring the Stars of Ford Racing to Motown

DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 1 -- The Metro Detroit Ford Dealers will once again offer fans the opportunity to get up-close with racing's biggest names at the fifth annual Ford Racing Fan Appreciation Day on Thursday, August 15. The event moves to Comerica Park in downtown Detroit.

This free event kicks off race-week festivities preceding the Pepsi 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Free tickets to Ford Racing Fan Appreciation Day are available at any of the Metro Detroit Ford dealers, from now thru August 15.

Ford drivers scheduled to attend include 1999 Winston Cup Champion Dale Jarrett, Mark Martin, Ricky Rudd, Jeff Burton, Elliott Sadler, Matt Kenseth, Rusty Wallace, Ricky Craven and NHRA legend John Force. The drivers will sign autographs throughout the event from 4:30-7:45 p.m. and field questions from fans during scheduled question-and-answer sessions. As schedules permit other Ford drivers may be added.

In addition, fans will be able to see NASCAR show cars and purchase Ford and individual team merchandise. Fans can participate in interactive racing displays, including the Motorcraft Racing Pit Crew Challenge. There will be various giveaways, clowns, children's attractions and production and concept vehicles.
