Porsche Cars North America Reports July U.S. Sales; Sales Up 8 Percent
ATLANTA, Aug. 1 -- Porsche Cars North America, Inc., (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars in the United States, today announced U.S. retail sales for July totaled 2,286 cars, an 8 percent increase over the same period last year. In addition, 911 sales were up 12 percent for the month, and Boxster sales were up 4 percent. Both Boxster and 911 set July sales records in North America.
July also marked the end of PCNA's fiscal year. Though PCNA sales were somewhat lower than in the previous fiscal year, the contribution to Porsche AG's bottom line continued to be strong due to an improved model mix. PCNA sold more Porsche 911 models in 2002 than in any previous fiscal year.
