Nissan Division Reports July Sales - Up 2.4%
GARDENA, Calif., Aug. 1 -- Led by continuing strong sales of the 2002 Altima, Nissan Division reported today sales of 54,746 for the month of July, a 2.4 percent increase versus July 2001.
The award-winning Altima had its best July ever, with sales totaling 17,418 units, a 56.1 percent increase versus July 2001. Year-to-date Altima sales rose to 119,877 units, up 38.4 percent compared to the same period last year.
Total truck sales for July totaled 20,228 units, a 17.0 percent decline over July 2001.
Combined July sales for Nissan and Infiniti divisions totaled 62,281 units, a 5.4 percent increase versus July of last year.
Sales of Nissan's North American produced vehicles for July totaled 42,659 units, which represents 74 percent of all Nissan vehicles sold in the United States.
