Brainerd International Raceway & Resort, Inc. to Host 21st Annual NHRA Nationals Aug. 15 - 18

OWOSSO, Mich., Aug. 1 Brainerd International Raceway & Resort, Inc., (BIR) a wholly owned subsidiary of Sports Resorts International, Inc., (the "Company") will host the 21st annual National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) PowerAde drag racing series Aug. 15 - 18. The race is the 16th of 23 events in the NHRA PowerAde Drag Racing Series for 2002 and features a $1.8 million purse. ESPN2 will televise qualifying and elimination coverage for the event, which will showcase all NHRA categories: Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Pro Stock Funny Car and Pro Stock Motorcycle. "This is a very important stop for the NHRA PowerAde Drag Racing Series. This is sure to be a pivotal race for the national championship as teams chase important PowerAde points. We look forward to a great series and expect this event to generate a lot of excitement for the Brainerd community and greater Minnesota," said Bob Wagner, NHRA Vice President of Sales and Business Development. NHRA is the primary sanctioning body for the sport of drag racing in the United States. It represents 23 national events through its NHRA PowerAde Drag Racing Series. The NHRA has more than 80,000 members nationwide and more than 130 member tracks. PowerAde, introduced and reformulated by the Coca-Cola Company , manufactures and sells carbonated beverage concentrates and syrups, including fountain syrups, some finished beverages and certain juice and juice drink products.
