Hollywood's Hot Wheels Hit The Highway

NEW YORK, NY--(INTERNET WIRE)--Aug 1, 2002 -- They've taken us Back to the Future, through the streets of Bedrock, and from the backwoods all the way to Beverly Hills. We're talking about some of Hollywood's most famous cars and they're about to embark on a very important road trip.

A "Famous Cars Roadshow" kicks off at New York's Planet Hollywood today, marking the start of a three-month national tour of some of Hollywood's most celebrated cars. The exhibit features vehicles made popular in films and TV shows such as The Flintstones, Starsky & Hutch, The Beverly Hillbillies, Back to The Future and this summer's blockbuster Road To Perdition. Dukes of Hazzard star Tom Wopat will be on-hand to unveil the exhibit, which also includes his beloved co-star, "The General Lee".

The "Famous Cars Roadshow" will be a trip down Memory Lane indeed, but it's also for a very good cause. The tour will help raise money for Charity Cars, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides vehicles to victims of domestic violence, disadvantaged families and others transitioning from dependency to self-sufficiency.

From New York, the tour will venture across America. Keep your eyes peeled for the colorful 53-foot semi-truck that will carry the exhibit -- it may be pulling into your town soon!
