SHANE LEWIS CLOSES OUT WINSTON CUP TESTING AT THE GLEN

-FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y., Wednesday, July 31, 2002 - Shane Lewis of Jupiter,
Florida completed two-days of Winston Cup testing here at Watkins Glen
International Tuesday. Driving the National Healing Corporation/ Otto
Motorsports Ford Taurus prepared by Last Lap, the two-time 24-Hours of Le
Mans starter accomplished a myriad of pre-race preparations before laying
down his quickest times of the test just prior to leaving the up-state New
York road course. Lewis and Otto Motorsports will return to "The Glen" for
the Sirius Satellite Radio at The Glen on August 11. The event will mark the
debut of Shane Lewis and Otto Motorsports in NASCAR's premier division.

"We came into this test knowing we had a lot of things on the checklist
before we could even think about turning our attention toward speed," said
Lewis, a 16-time 24-hour event starter. "We spent most of Monday and Tuesday
morning sorting the National Healing Ford Taurus out. We have a great
partner in Yates Engines and Alton McBride, Jr. has done a terrific job
getting his Last Lap Motorsports team and this car together in a few short
weeks. It isn't easy putting together a Winston Cup program from nothing to
race day in less than a month. We have had a pretty steep hill to climb but
we made progress over these two-days here at The Glen. We'll take the car
back to Last Lap's shop in Charlotte and bring it back ready to go on race
weekend. We are still putting together the last few pieces of the puzzle and
when we're back in a week or so we'll be able to see the whole picture more
clearly. We are aiming everything towards that day. We learned an awful lot
of what to do this weekend. and maybe a few things not to do."

The two-tone blue and yellow entry is owned by Edgar Otto, Jr., of Boca
Raton, Florida and is a special tribute to his father, Edward Otto, Sr.
Otto, Sr. will be inducted into the National Motorsports Press Association
Hall of Fame in Darlington, South Carolina on August 31st. The elder Otto
was NASCAR's first vice president and was heavily involved in promoting
events, particularly in the northeast, for the stock car sanctioning body in
the early years of the Winston Cup, then Grand National, division. Among the
events that Otto promoted was the first NASCAR event at Watkins Glen
International 45 years ago.

"We are looking forward to coming back the second week of August and
introducing a whole new generation of fans to the name Ed Otto," said an
enthusiastic Lewis. "Edward Otto, Sr. brought so much to this sport, more
than a lot of people know, and I think it is important to know your history.
Edgar has given me a chance to accomplish one of my goals by racing in
Winston Cup. Everyone at Otto Motorsports and Last Lap wants to help Edgar's
dream of paying tribute to his father come true too."
