Roadway Express Sends Thirty-Two of Industry's Best Drivers to National Truck Driving Championships

    AKRON, Ohio--July 30, 2002--Roadway Corporation

Roadway Express, Inc. proudly announces that thirty-two of its best professional drivers will be on their way to compete at the 65th National Truck Driving Championships August 13-17, 2002 to be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the Midwest Express Center. The American Trucking Associations sponsors the event.
These state champions deserve the highest recognition for their dedication to safety, driving skills and professionalism. Just the opportunity of attending is one of the highest honors a driver can receive during his or her career. Both the state and national competitions include difficult driving skills and maneuvering test, pre-trip inspections and a written examination covering vehicle operation and federal safety regulations.
"We are extremely proud of these accomplished drivers," stated Jim Staley, President and Chief Operating Officer for Roadway. "It takes dedication and a strong commitment to safety and serving our customers to achieve such high standards. We wish them the best in the national competition."
