Metaldyne Opens Office in Japan

PLYMOUTH, Mich., July 29 -- Metaldyne announced today that it has opened a new sales and engineering office in Yokohama, Japan, a suburb of Tokyo. The office will support several major programs and business development initiatives with Japanese automotive manufacturers and Tier One suppliers.

"The new office is a logical step for Metaldyne because the majority of our new business with Japanese automotive manufacturers requires significant engineering involvement," said Chuck Pestow, vice president of sales and marketing. "Because our customers' engineering and validation activities reside in Japan, the office will enhance Metaldyne's ability to satisfy demands for local and responsive engineering support."

Mac Noguchi, general manager, Metaldyne Japan, and Takeshi Gotoh, director, Engineering, will be located at the office effective July 1, 2002. Metaldyne plans to hire additional employees in the future.
