Johnson Controls Appoints Rande Somma President of Automotive Systems Group
MILWAUKEE, July 29, Johnson Controls today announced the appointment of Rande Somma as President of the company's Automotive Systems Group.
In his new role, Mr. Somma, 50, will be responsible for the global automotive interiors business, a major supplier of seating and interior systems worldwide.
The announcement was made by Johnson Controls President and Chief Operating Officer John M. Barth. Mr. Barth said that Mr. Somma will also report to Giovanni (John) Fiori, Executive Vice President and President, International, regarding operations outside North America.
In 2000 Mr. Somma, became head of the North American business for the automotive interiors group. Since joining Johnson Controls in 1988, he has held a variety of positions with responsibility for interior systems, marketing, sales, business development and the General Motors and Honda business units. He was elected a corporate officer in 1998.
He is a graduate of Robert Morris College, Pennsylvania.
