Carmichael & Hayden On A Roll!

AMA/Chevy Trucks US Motocross Championships, Round 9: Washougal Motocross
Park, Washougal, WA, Sunday, July 28

Honda Racing's Ricky Carmichael won both motos en route to his 9th overall
250cc win in a row, breaking Bob Hannah's record of 8 consecutive wins.
Carmichael's win gave Honda's it's first in Washougal since 1995.
Carmichael now has 18 consecutive moto wins and a 101 point lead.


Honda-supported Kyle Lewis raced his CRF450R to an astounding 3rd place
finish overall. The hard-charging Lewis continues to show up many of the
top factory riders by consistently finishing in the top of the field.


Honda Racing's Nathan Ramsey rode solid to finish just behind Lewis for a
4th place overall. Ramsey crashed in moto 2 while battling with Lewis
taking away any chance of a podium finish.


Red Rider Mike LaRocco finished the day in 7th place overall after a hard
fought battle in moto 2 saw him lose the front end and drop back to 7th for
the moto and the day.


Red Rider Sebastien Tortelli finished 16th overall with a 40-14 score.


In the 125cc class, Honda Racing's Ernesto Fonseca finished 4th with a 6-4
overall score.

Honda Racing's Nicky Hayden continues to shine in the AMA Superbike
Championship. In one of the most exciting races of the year Eric Bostrom
got away early and built a lead of 7.6 seconds at the halfway point of the
race. Hayden charged from behind and came within .0341 of a second of
beating Bostrom at the line.  Hayden took home valuable 2nd place
championship points and a 32-point lead with 3 races remaining.


Teammate Miguel Duhamel finished in 7th place.


Erion Honda Racing's Kurtis Roberts continues his comeback from injury
early in the season and finished the day in 6th place.

Round 14: Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Lexington, OH, July 26-28


Honda Racing's Nicky Hayden won Sunday's Superbike main event in convincing
fashion. Eric Bostrom got away early but Hayden quickly caught and passed
him and was pulling away when the red flag came out due to a downed rider.
On the re-start Bostrom again got the jump but was followed closely by
Hayden. Hayden made his move and made it stick and won the race going away
by 1.6 seconds. Hayden now takes a 35 point series lead into the final
event of the season a doubleheader at Virginia International Raceway.


Erion Honda Racing's Kurtis Roberts finished the event in 4th place, while
Red Rider Miguel Duhamel finished 7th.

Bruce Transportation Group / Honda Racing's Jake Zemke finished a
hard-fought race in 4th place. Zemke trails series points leader Damon
Buckmaster by just two points going into the final round at Virginia
International Raceway.

Erion Honda Racing's Roger Hayden battled up front for most of the race.
Hayden led the race at one point but had both tires break loose on the last
lap and nearly high-sided. Hayden who was in 2nd  place at the time would
recover to finish in 6th place.


Bruce Transportation Group / Honda Racing's Jake Zemke followed closely
behind to take seventh place.
