Sharps Compliance Corp. Board of Directors Joined by Ramsay Gillman

    HOUSTON--July 22, 2002--Sharps Compliance Corp. (OTCBB:SCOM) ("Sharps") today announced the appointment of Ramsay Gillman to its board of directors. Mr. Gillman is the owner, president and chief executive officer of The Gillman Companies, which owns and operates eight automobile sales, parts and service complexes in Houston, Rosenberg, Edna, Austin and San Antonio, Texas, and has 23 new car dealer franchises.
    Mr. Gillman served as the director of South Texas for the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) from 1989 through 1999 and was elected president of NADA in 1997. Currently, Mr. Gillman serves as a trustee for the NADA Charitable Foundation and for the NADA Dealers Election Action Committee. He has also served as president of the Houston Automobile Dealer's Association, vice president of the Texas Automobile Dealer's Association and was appointed vice chairman of the Texas Motor Vehicle Commission from 1984 through 1987 by the Governor of Texas.
