GM Won The 2002 Summit Gold Award For Its Buick Rendezvous Creative

Detroit, Michigan - General Motors Corporation and Innovasia Advertising, GM's national agency-of-record for the Asian-American market, recently won the 2002 Summit Gold Award for their Buick Rendezvous advertising campaign in the Chinese-American market. The Summit Awards honor advertising excellence from smaller creative companies around the world.

Creative elements for the Rendezvous campaign include in-language TV commercials, a print ad, and a brochure. The creative theme of the harmony among the heaven, earth, and people not only resonated well among Chinese-American consumers, but also reflected the vehicle's three-in-one capability - the ride of a luxury sedan, functionalities of an SUV, and the roominess of a minivan.

"We appreciate receiving recognition from the industry for Innovasia's great creative work. The Rendezvous campaign is relevant and memorable to our Chinese-American consumers, and is successfully driving sales," stated July Hu, executive director of GM's Center of Expertise on Diversity and Growth Markets.

GM and Innovasia won a Summit Bronze Award in 2000 for its Cadillac DeVille's "The Great Asian American" TV spot, and another Bronze in 2001 for Cadillac Escalade's "Living Dragon" TV spot. Both commercials were produced for and run in Chinese-American and Korean-American markets.
