GM Establishes Goodwrench As Key Automotive Service Brand For All GM Dealers
FOR RELEASE: July 22, 2002GM Establishes Goodwrench As Key Automotive Service Brand For All GM Dealers
Grand Blanc, Mich. - General Motors Service and Parts Operations (SPO) announced today that GM Goodwrench will be the inclusive automotive service brand for all GM dealers beginning January 1, 2003. And for the first time in two years, consumers will learn the benefits of Goodwrench service from national TV advertising.
GM owners have come to associate the Goodwrench name with the highest levels of service professionalism. At the same time, there has been growing confusion about where to obtain Goodwrench service, since it is only available at a select number of dealers. Returning Goodwrench to an inclusive brand for all GM dealers enables national marketing of a very strong brand, and responds to consumer demand.
"With 7,400 participating dealerships, the newly formed Goodwrench network will be the largest automotive service chain in the industry, "said Doug Herberger, GMNA vice president and SPO General Manager. "We have expert technicians, quality GM parts and competitive pricing to provide the best possible service for the GM customer."
Goodwrench television advertising will be launched nation-wide in mid-September, reinforcing the expertise and craftsmanship of the GM dealer technicians.
"We intend to be even more aggressive with our advertising in 2003, more than doubling our media budget," Herberger said. "We are extremely confident in our dealers providing quality parts and service, and excited about the opportunity to communicate the benefits of doing business with GM Goodwrench dealers."
In addition to advertising, the Goodwrench brand offers dealers a toolbox of initiatives and programs to help satisfy GM customers. Dealers may choose from additional marketing tools, the ON A ROLL! Tire program, GOODWRENCH MOBILE SERVICE VANS, GOODWRENCH AUTO BODY CENTERS and Quick Lube standalone systems, among others.
SPO, headquartered in Grand Blanc, Michigan, markets automotive replacement parts and accessories worldwide under the GM and ACDelco brand names. For more information, visit the GM Goodwrench Service Plus web site at gmgoodwrench.com.
