JEFFREY JONES SWITCHES TEAMS MID-SEASON
SARASOTA, FLA. (July 22, 2002) -Current Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship
runner-up Jeffrey Jones has announced his immediate separation from Cape
Motorsports.
Jones, the 20 year-old rookie, has joined Roquin Motorsports for the
remainder of the season. The Greg Moore Rookie of the Year points leader,
will be driving a car engineered by John Hayes, who has previously captured
three championships in the Zetec Championship.
Prior to joining the Zetec Championship, Jones was a veteran of three years
of European Racing. Jones drove entire seasons with series champions Haywood
Racing in British and European Formula Ford, as well as British and European
Formula Renault and Formula 3 champions Manor Mortorsport.
"I have enough racing experience to know when it's time to move on," said
Jones who regrets leaving Cape Motorsports. "I have always admired John
Hayes and look forward to working with him and Roquin Motorsports for the
remainder of the season. I feel confident that this new partnership will
result in a highly successful season finish. I would like to thank Roquin
Mortorsports for allowing me the opportunity to race with such a fine
organization."
The Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship season continues with Rounds Nine
and Ten at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, August 10-11.
