Rezutek Reigns at Hales Corners Speedway

    Franklin, Wis., July 20-Bill Rezutek picked up his first career UMP late 
model feature victory on Suburban Drywall Night Saturday at the Hales Corners 
Speedway.
    Don Sorce Jr. won the second round of the Borchardt Speed - Automotive 
Sportsmen Triple Crown while the remainder of the program fell victim to 
rain.
    Rezutek started the 30-lap UMP late model headliner from the pole and led 
until Bret Sievert took command at lap 16.  After a short yellow for light 
rain, the race resumed and Rezutek went back past Sievert to retake the lead 
at lap 18.
    In the closing laps Rezutek eased away form his pursuers as the quartet 
of Rick Scheffler, Scott Specht, Sievert and Jimmy Watson disputed second 
place.  Scheffler trailed Rezutek under the checkered flag to claim runner-up 
honors, while Watson was third, Sievert fourth and Jim Zdroik fifth.  Specht 
was muscled aside by Sievert in the final turn and fell to sixth at the 
finish as a result.
    John Sidesky led the first three laps of the 35-lap Borchardt Speed - 
Automotive Sportsmen Triple Crown feature before Sorce Jr. took command.  
Once in front, Sorce Jr. was mostly unchallenged for the remainder of the 
event as he led handily.  Jeff Tondryk finished second, with Pat Heaney 
third, Dave Gorny fourth and Eddie Lemay Jr. fifth.
    Rain cancelled the modified, Hales Whales and 4-cylinder features just 
after the conclusion of the sportsmen feature.
    Racing continues at the Hales Corners Speedway on Saturday night, July 
27.  The night will be topped by a 30-lap UMP late model feature and a full 
program of sportsmen, modified and Hales Whales racing, plus the new 
4-cylinder division.  Time trials are at 6:15 p.m., with racing immediately 
following qualifying.  Hales Corners Speedway is located on Hwy. 100, 
one-half mile south of Forest Home Avenue in Franklin, next to Hiller Ford.
