GM Wraps Up The HUMMER Dealer Network

Addition of 14 new dealers brings network to 147 total

Detroit, MI. -The world's premiere off-road vehicles, the HUMMER H1 and HUMMER H2, are at 147 new GM HUMMER dealerships across North America.

In each of these markets General Motors signed a new HUMMER division dealer agreement with dealerships that exemplify the highest standards of performance among GM dealers in customer service, sales and profitability.

As of July 22, 2002, the newest HUMMER dealerships include:

  • Joseph Serra in the Colorado Springs market will open Al Serra HUMMER in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
  • In East Haven, Connecticut, David McDermott will open Dave McDermott HUMMER covering the New Haven, Connecticut, market.
  • Billie Nimnicht, in the Jacksonville, Florida market, will open Nimnicht HUMMER in Jacksonville, Florida.
  • William Proctor will open Proctor & Proctor HUMMER for the Tallahassee market in Tallahassee, Florida.
  • HUMMER of Savannah located in Savannah, Georgia will open business to the Savannah market under Jane Thacther Vaden
  • In the Atlanta, Georgia market, William Bridges will open HUMMER of Union City in Union City, Georgia.
  • In Billings, Montana Dennis Menholt will open Frontier HUMMER covering the Billings, Montana market.
  • Roger Burdick in North Syracuse, New York will open Roger's HUMMER in the Syracuse market.
  • B. Scott Smith will open Crest HUMMER for the Nashville market in Nashville, Tennessee.
  • In Georgetown, Texas, Don Hewlett will open Don Hewlett HUMMER for the Austin, Texas market.
  • In Washington, covering the Tacoma market, Melanie MaCann will open Osborne-McCann HUMMER in Tacoma, Washington.
  • John Bruno will open HUMMER of Manhattan for the NYC-Long Island market in New York City, New York.
  • In the Sioux Falls, South Dakota market, Randy Nehring will open HUMMER of Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
  • In Richmond, Virginia covering the Richmond market, Jacques J. Moore Jr. will open Moore HUMMER.

The addition of these 14 new dealer points brings the total number of new GM HUMMER dealerships to 147.

Customers at the new GM HUMMER dealerships can expect treatment competitive with other luxury manufacturers. In the future, that will include a unique and daring dealer environment. The first of these HUMMER exclusive stores has already opened in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The GM HUMMER division consists of two models, the H1, based on the military HUMVEE, and the all-new 2003 H2 SUV. The H1 has two distinct body styles, a 4-Door Wagon and 4-Door Soft-Top. The H2 SUV is now on sale.

General Motors and AM General reached an agreement in December 1999 in which GM acquired exclusive ownership of the HUMMER brand name worldwide.
