Wagon Automotive Receives ISO 14001 Certification

WIXOM, Mich.--July 17, 2002--Wagon Automotive Inc. of Wagon plc has achieved ISO 14001 certification.
The certification came on the recommendation of Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance, the registrar considering the company's application.
"ISO 14001 procedures help Wagon Automotive's U.S. unit achieve a number of key business benefits ranging from lower operating costs and increased processed efficiency throughout the manufacturing facility," said Chris Darlaston, Vice President of Operations. "Our obligation to maintaining the environment goes hand in hand with Wagon's commitment of producing the highest quality products for our customers."
ISO 14001 series is a family of environmental management standards developed by the International organization of Standardization (ISO), one of the world's principal voluntary standards development bodies. Under ISO 14000 guidelines, there are five areas of assessment: environmental management systems, environmental performance evaluations, environmental auditing, life cycle assessment and environmental labeling. Wagon Automotive US was required to meet specific standards in all five areas to achieve full certification. North American headquarters are in Troy, Mich.
