Amcast Automotive Awarded Aluminum Suspension Component From DaimlerChrysler
DAYTON, Ohio--July 17, 2002--Amcast Industrial Corporation announced today that Amcast Automotive has been awarded its first cast aluminum suspension component from DaimlerChrysler Corporation. The component, a rear knuckle, will be produced for the 2004 1/2 model year Dodge and Chrysler full-sized vehicles. Initial production shipments for this program will begin during the fourth quarter of 2003."This award recognizes our growing relationship with DaimlerChrysler and contributes toward our goal of diversifying our automotive customer base," says Jeff Dornseifer, Amcast Automotive, Vice President, Sales & Marketing. The project is expected to fill approximately 5% of Amcast's rear knuckle capacity for the 2004 fiscal year.
