Kentucky Oil Company Announces Year End Awards for Participants

Lexington, KY.  (July 17, 2002) -- Almost $500,000 in cash and merchandise
awards will be presented to competitors in the inaugural Valvoline Cup.
The details of the driver awards program were  announced today by
Valvoline.

With over 82,000 drivers enrolled to date, the 2002 Valvoline Cup,
presented by Campbell Hausfeld, is the largest points championship ever
conducted for grassroots racers. The program honors national champions in
an amazing six categories and 32 classes of cars, ranging from stock cars
to sprinters to dragsters and even power-boat competitors. Drivers in
virtually any series, at any track, under any sanctioning organization in
the U.S., can enroll.

Valvoline announced that participating drivers are eligible for nearly
$500,000 in cash and merchandise.  Drivers who rank in the top 30 within
their class at the end of the season will win awards, which have been
posted by Valvoline, presenting sponsor Campbell Hausfeld, National Speed
Sport News, as well as by other program promotional partners.  A total of
960 competitors will receive prizes.   The winning driver in the top class
will receive cash, merchandise and products valued at approximately
$3,000.

Mikel Hartman, Valvoline sports marketing manager, commented, "It is truly
amazing how many drivers registered for the Valvoline Cup prior to this
awards announcement.  Regardless of whether a driver sits in the seat of
an ARCA stock car, or a Street Stock drag racer, they have just as much
racer in them, and that is what the Valvoline Cup is all about."

Since March of this year, RaceFan, Inc. the program administrator, has
held Valvoline Cup promotions at over 200 asphalt and dirt short tracks,
drag strips, and road courses all over the U.S.  At each promotion,
Valvoline has given away nearly $700 in Valvoline, Zerex, Eagle One, and
Pyroil products, to both race fans and to winning race teams.  At each
promotion, one lucky fan received a Campbell Hausfeld 250 PSI portable
compressor and drivers have received valuable Campbell Hausfeld discount
coupons.

Registration is still open to all drivers wishing to compete for the
inaugural Valvoline Cup National Drivers Points Championship.   Interested
drivers can register at  www.valvolinecup.com or can call the Valvoline
Cup Headquarters at 877  302-0290 for more information.  Competition for
this season will continue through October, with class winners and final
point standings announced in December.
