Apogee Names Deckman President of Harmon AutoGlass

    MINNEAPOLIS--July 15, 2002--Apogee Enterprises, Inc. announced that Joseph T. Deckman, Apogee executive vice president, has been named president of its Harmon AutoGlass business, effective today, July 15. He replaces Robert E. Munzenrider who has resigned to pursue other interests.
    Deckman joined Apogee in 1995 as president of the Apogee Wausau group, which included Wausau Window and Wall Systems and Linetec. In 1997, he was named head of the building products and services segment, and in 1999 he became executive vice president, a title he will continue to hold. He has had responsibility for Harmon AutoGlass since becoming executive vice president and temporarily served as its president in 1999 and 2000. Prior to joining Apogee, Deckman was vice president and general manager of several business units of Master Builders, Inc.
    Russell Huffer, Apogee chairman, president and chief executive officer, thanked Munzenrider for his years of service to the company and wished him success in his future endeavors. Munzenrider joined Apogee in 1999 as vice president, finance for the Glass Services segment and was named Harmon AutoGlass president in September 2000.

-- Large-scale optical technologies companies develop and produce high technology glass that enhances the visual performance of products for the display, imaging and picture framing industries. Businesses in this segment are: Tru Vue, a North American value-added glass and matboard manufacturer for the custom framing and pre-framed art markets; and Viratec, a producer of optical thin film coatings for the global display and imaging markets.
