U.S. TEAM NAMED FOR 2002 TRIAL DES NATIONS
PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has named the
two American teams that will compete in the Trial des Nations on September 28 -
29 in Pacos de Ferreira, Portugal.
The 2002 men's team will be lead by Trial des Nations veteran Geoff Aaron of
Romona, Calif., on a Gas Gas. Sherco's Travis Fox of Montoursville, Pa.,
Montesa-mounted Chris Florin of Grant, Fla., and Andy Johnson of Nevada City,
Calif., riding a Beta, complete the men's team.
The 2002 women's team is made up of Kerrie Brokaw of Colorado Springs, Colo., on
a Montesa, and Gas Gas riders Laura Bussing of Sequatchie, Tenn., and Nicole
Bradford of Gypsum, Colo.
Based on their 2000 victory in the "B" group, the U.S. men's team will compete
in the premier "A" group this year. Team USA did not compete in the 2001 Trial
des Nation following the events of September 11.
While only a handful of America's top trials competitors will get the chance to
compete in the Trial des Nations, interested spectators can also become a part
of the experience - and tour Portugal - with a special tour put together by AMA
Travel. The Team USA Trial des Nations Tour runs September 24 - October 1, and
includes four-star hotel accommodations for five nights in Santo Tirso, one
night's accommodation at a three-star hotel in Lisbon, breakfast daily,
round-trip air fare from New Jersey to Lisbon, car rental with unlimited mileage
and a Team USA jacket. The package is priced at $1,535 per person, based on
double occupancy.
