Oshkosh Truck Common Stock Begins Trading On New York Stock Exchange Under the Symbol OSK

    OSHKOSH, Wis.--July 12, 2002--Oshkosh Truck Corporation , a diversified manufacturer of defense and commercial trucks and truck bodies, today begins trading its common stock on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The company's new ticker symbol is OSK.
    In honor of the occasion, Robert G. Bohn, chairman, president and chief executive officer, will ring The Opening Bell(SM). Bohn will also trade the first 100 shares of the company's stock on the NYSE. Board members and other company executives will also be present for the event, and one of the company's Pierce(R) brand fire trucks will be parked in front of the NYSE building.
    "The move to the NYSE reflects Oshkosh Truck's commitment to providing outstanding value for our shareholders through improved trading efficiency and wider visibility for our stock. It comes at a time when we have more than doubled revenues and quadrupled our earnings over the last four years," said Bohn.
    The company had been listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker symbol OTRKB since its initial public offering in 1985.
