Delco Remy Promotes Tailor to Sr. VP and GM, Aftermarket
ANDERSON, Ind., July 9 -- Delco Remy International, Inc., has announced the appointment of Divakar ("Dibs") Tailor to the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager, Aftermarket. In this new assignment Tailor will have responsibility for the Electrical, Transmission, Locomotive, Diesel and Gas Engine Aftermarket operations of Delco Remy. He will continue to report to Rick Keister, President, Delco Remy Aftermarket.
Most recently, Mr. Tailor served as Senior Vice President of Manufacturing for the Electrical Aftermarket Division where he led the development and expansion of Delco Remy's electrical remanufacturing operations in North America, Europe and South East Asia to World Class levels. Today Delco Remy has achieved the number one market share position in rotating electrical while maintaining the highest levels of quality and lowest warranty rates in the industry.

He introduced and implemented lean manufacturing and is the architect of significant cost reduction initiatives. Tailor joined the Delco Remy team in 1997 and prior to that was General Manager of UAP/NAPA's remanufacturing business in Canada. Dibs served his apprenticeship with Lucas Industries in the UK and later transferred to their worldwide operations consulting practice where he was responsible for the development of the North American market. He left Lucas to join Wilson Auto in Canada as General Manager.
He holds a Masters of Science in Industrial Engineering from Cranfield University (UK), a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bradford (UK) and is currently enrolled in the executive MBA class at the Wharton School of Business.
