Detroit automakers new incentives for retail buyers:
General Motors
Zero-percent financing or cash back of $1,000-$4,000 on most 2002 cars and trucks through Sept. 3. Reduced interest rates of 1.9 and 2.9 percent on longer-term loans for popular truck models and Chevrolet Corvette.
Ford Motor Co.
Zero-percent financing on 2002 Ford brand cars and trucks through Sept. 3, except for Thunderbird, Escape and SVT models. Rebates of $1,500-$3,000 on most Ford models, plus reduced-rate financing. Bonuses of $1,000-$1,500 for returning lease customers through Sept. 30, in addition to regular rebates.
Chrysler Group
Zero-percent financing for 60-month loans on a wide range of 2002 Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep cars and trucks through Sept. 3. Zero-percent financing available on shorter loans for a limited number of models. Beginning July 9 2002, almost all vehicles will come with a 7-year or 70,000-mile, fully transferable powertrain warranty.
