Kil-Kare Pre-Race Release

Fayetteville, GA (July 1, 2002) - The 2002 USAR Hooters ProCup Series Northern Division will head to its second new track on the schedule when Kil-Kare Speedway hosts the Series on Friday July 5. The Hooters ProCup 250 presented by Buffalo Nickel Buffalo Burgers promises to be exciting according to Series driver and Ohio resident Glenn Gault. Gault, in his first season driving Hooters ProCup Series machines, had three consecutive top-five finishes earlier this season.

Gault finished third and fourth at Winchester and Salem Speedways and followed with a fifth-place finish at Holland Speedway on June 1. He hopes racing in his home state will be an advantage.

"I have never raced at Kil-Kare Speedway but I hear it is a driver's track," Gault said. "The layout of the track will probably be more of a challenge for many of us because we haven't raced on it before. The track has a design that really features five turns and getting your car to set up will be the key."

The .375-mile track will host the Hooters ProCup 250 on a night that should feature a group of Ohio drivers hoping to win in their home state. Lonnie Rush is from Pickerington, while Chad Pendleton and Donnie "Zero" Hill are from Columbus. Gault is from Hubbard and Justin Alsip is from Germantown.

"It would be nice to be the first Ohio driver to win a Northern Division race in our home state," said Gault. "The track is a beautiful facility and we are looking forward to racing in front of all the great fans."

Gault has enjoyed a solid campaign so far this season in the USAR Hooters ProCup Series and hopes to continue his string of good finishes.

"We began the season looking for consistency and some top-fives," Gault added. "We have had some good luck and we are learning the set ups on these heavy cars. Hopefully the second half of the season might give us an opportunity for our first win in the Series."

The Hooters ProCup 250 race will begin at 8 pm and be immediately followed with a 40-lap E-Modified race for local competitors. For advance ticket purchase information please contact Kil-Kare Speedway at (937) 426-2764.
