Cohesia Corporation Announces Issue of Patent for IntelliDoc Technology

DAYTON, Ohio--July 1, 2002--Cohesia Corporation today announced receipt of United States Patent 6,405,211 covering the IntelliDoc(R) technology used in their MASS(R) product.
The patent titled "Object-oriented representation of technical content and management, filtering, and synthesis of technical content using object-oriented representations" covers Cohesia's unique capability to extract the critical information contained in specification documents as they are applied to a part or component in the design process.
The IntelliDoc technology in MASS allows for the development of a Master Specification(TM). A Master Specification captures all characteristics of a product including both drawing requirements and those contained in specification documents. This technology enables clear communication of all product attributes and quality requirements in a web-based collaborative engineering and manufacturing environment.
"We are excited with the issue of this much awaited patent for our IntelliDoc technology," said Dan Z. Sokol, Cohesia CEO and President. "The extraction of critical data contained in design documents such as drawings and especially complex specification documents has acted as a barrier to effective flow-down and usage of this critical information in the design and manufacturing process. The ability to make this data computer-sensible and allow automated extraction of applicable characteristics at the time of use will significantly reduce the product development and manufacturing lifecycle, while greatly enhancing quality for complex part manufacturers."
The application of MASS will significantly enhance quality as key customers such as GE Aircraft Engines continue to expand their electronic commerce initiatives across a large and increasingly global supply chain. Many companies are focusing efforts to enhance Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), but the Cohesia IntelliDoc reaches the next critical level of Characteristic Lifecycle Management (CLM) and meets manufacturers' needs to effectively communicate critical data from design through manufacturing.

Cohesia Corporation is a pioneer in the development of advanced intelligent document solutions to allow computer-automated management and application of the complex design data throughout the supply chain. The company is headquartered in Dayton, Ohio.
Cohesia's flagship product, MASS(R) is a unique software solution specifically designed to manage the technical requirements of complex make-to-specification design and manufacturing companies. Target industries include aerospace, defense, automotive, power generation equipment, transportation, electronics and their supply chains.
