Donely Tops in the Allison Legacy Cars at the Hardeeville Motor Speedway
HARDEEVILLE, S.C. (June 29, 2002) - The Allison Legacy Cars made their
second of three appearances at the Hardeeville Motor Speedway on Saturday
night with twin 50-lap feature events. Jereme Donley from Winston-Salem,
NC, picked up both feature events in the Allison Legacy Cars Series.
In local racing action, Shane Jenkins of Statesboro, GA picked up his first
win of the season over Tommy Porter of Savannah, GA and Corey Fletcher from
Bloomingdale, GA in the O.C. Welch Ford-Lincoln-Mercury Late Models.
Fourteen year old Andrew Smith of Pooler, GA bested the field for his
Legends Cars to pick up the win over Jonathan Haidon of Hilton Head, SC and
Kevin Eves from Guyton, GA. In Mini Stock action, Steven Moore of St.
George, SC finished ahead of David Carr of Martinez, GA and Bobby Duncan of
Ludowici, GA. Tim Dasher of Bluffton, SC beat Don Dean of Sheldon, SC by
three car lengths to win the Xtreme Stock Car feature with Summerville, SC
native David Taschner finishing third. The Road Warriors returned with an
exciting feature race as first time racer Lee Greenberg of Hardeeville, SC
finished in first ahead of Chelsea Carr of Martinez, GA and Stacy Williams
from Hardeeville, SC.
This Wednesday night, July 3rd, the Hardeeville Motor Speedway will be back
in action with its mid-season championships featuring the O.C. Welch
Ford-Lincoln-Mercury Late Models, Legends Cars, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks,
Xtreme Stock Cars and Road Warriors. After the racing events, there will
be a spectacular fireworks display. Gates open at 4:00 p.m., qualifying
begins at 6:00 p.m. followed by the National Anthem at 7:00 p.m. General
admission ticket prices are $10.00 for adults; $6.00 for Juniors (ages
13-16), Seniors (55 and older) and Military (with proper I.D.); $2.00 for
children (ages 6-12); and children under 5 are free.
The Hardeeville Motor Speedway is located three miles south of I-95 (exit 5
in SC) on Highway 17 or just ten miles north of Savannah on Highway 17.
