Sequa Elects Two Corporate Staff Officers

    NEW YORK--June 27, 2002--The board of directors of Sequa Corporation has elected Joanne M. O'Sullivan vice president and controller and Michael Blickensderfer vice president, taxes.
    O'Sullivan, 38, joined Sequa in 1988 as a staff accountant and advanced through a series of financial and accounting posts. She was appointed manager of budgets, pensions and government accounting in 1996 and was named director of financial reporting in 1998. She succeeds William P. Ksiazek, who has decided to retire after nearly 30 years with the company.
    O'Sullivan graduated from Montclair State College (B.S., 1986) and received an MBA in finance from Iona College in 1999. She began her career as an auditor for Arthur Andersen. A certified public accountant, she is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She was Sequa's honoree at the 2001 Tribute to Women and Industry, an annual award sponsored by the YWCA.
    Blickensderfer, 45, joined Sequa in 1987 as director of taxes and has served as head of the corporate tax department for the past several years. Before joining Sequa, he was federal tax manager for Chromalloy American Corporation, a St. Louis, Missouri-based company acquired by Sequa at the end of 1986. Blickensderfer's association with Chromalloy dates from 1983. Previously, he was a senior tax accountant with Price Waterhouse & Co.
    Blickensderfer graduated from Southern Illinois University (B.S., 1979). He is a certified public accountant and a member of the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants.
