Ford and Visteon-"Play nicely now children"

DETROIT (AP) -- A European pricing dispute between Ford Motor Co. and former subsidiary Visteon Corp. has been settled, the companies announced Tuesday.

The dispute was over a request by Ford that Visteon grant the same price cuts that Ford received from other major suppliers.

Terms of the agreement, which affects pricing from the 2001 and 2002 calendar years, were not disclosed.

Ford and Visteon settled the same dispute for their North American divisions in March.

Ford spun off Visteon in June 2000 but remains the Dearborn, Michigan-based supplier's largest customer.

In trading Tuesday on the New York Stock Exchange, Ford shares rose 20 cents to close at $16.05, while Visteon shares were down 15 cents to close at $14.70.
