Toyota Motor Sales Announces Executive Appointments

TORRANCE, Calif., June 24 -- Toyota Motor Sales, (TMS) USA today announced executive appointments involving Toyota Division, Lexus Division, Scion and various corporate headquarters business units. These organizational changes and promotions will be effective July 1 and include the following:

Chris Hostetter, Vice President, Advanced Product Strategy, is named Vice President, Advanced Product Strategy and Product Planning, adding product planning to his responsibilities. Hostetter will report to Dave Danzer, Group Vice President, Corporate Strategic and Product Planning.

Robert (Bob) Carter, a former Toyota associate whose last position was General Manager, Denver Region, rejoins the company as Vice President, Sales and Dealer Development, Lexus Division. Carter returns to Toyota after gaining valuable retail experience as dealer principal of Hyannis Toyota in Hyannis, MA. Carter will report to Lexus Group VP and General Manager Denny Clements.

Tony Fujita, Vice President, Service, Parts, Customer Satisfaction and Training, Lexus Division has been appointed to the new position of Vice President, Global Knowledge Center, reporting to Bryan Bergsteinsson, Group VP, University of Toyota. The Center was established by TMS in conjunction with Toyota Motor Corporation to advance company principles in sales and marketing organizations around the world.

Mark Templin, Area Manager, Lexus Southern, is promoted to Vice President, Service, Parts, Customer Satisfaction and Training, Lexus Division, replacing Fujita and reporting to Clements.

The following appointments involve moves from Toyota and Lexus field operations to headquarters positions.

Jim Farley, Area Manager, Lexus Central is appointed to the newly created position of Corporate Manager, Scion. Farley will report to Jim Lentz, Vice President of Scion, Toyota's youth-oriented sales and marketing initiative.

Randy Pflughaupt, General Manager, San Francisco Region is appointed Corporate Manager, Distribution Operations, replacing Bob Skiles who retired. Pflughaupt will report to Al Cabito, Group Vice President, Sales Administration.

The following appointments involve Toyota Regional and Lexus Area, which provide sales and service support to dealerships:

Dave Camden, General Manager, Cincinnati Region is promoted to Vice President and General Manager. Camden will continue to report to Alan DeCarr, Group Vice President, Sales Administration.

Jim Colon, General Manager, Chicago Region is promoted to Vice President and General Manager. Colon will continue to report to DeCarr.

Dave Fleming, General Manager, New York Region, is promoted to Vice President and General Manager, and will continue to report to DeCarr.

Paul Holdridge, General Manager, Kansas City Regional Office is named General Manager, San Francisco Region, replacing Randy Pflughaupt. Holdridge will continue to report to DeCarr.

Nancy Fein, Corporate Manager and Assistant Region Manager, Los Angeles Region, is appointed General Manager, Kansas City Region, reporting to DeCarr.

Ed Laukes, Assistant Area Manager, Lexus Southern, is promoted to Area Manager, replacing Templin and reporting to Carter.

Mark Del Rosso, Assistant Area Manager, Lexus Eastern, is promoted to Area Manager, Lexus Central, replacing Jim Farley and reporting to Carter.

The following executive appointments involve additional headquarters departments and operations:

Ron Broughman, Corporate Manager, Toyota Certified Used Vehicles, is appointed Corporate Manager, Fleet, replacing Marv Rivers who retired. Broughman will report to Cabito.

Al Smith, Corporate Manager eBusiness is appointed Corporate Manager, Strategic Projects, in the Toyota Division, reporting to DeCarr.

Ed Ohlin, Corporate Manager, Product Planning, is named Corporate Manager, Toyota Certified Used Vehicles, replacing Broughman and reporting to Cabito.

Mike Bevan, National Market Representation Manager, is promoted to Corporate Manager, Market Representation, replacing Guillermo Hysaw who was recently promoted to Vice President, Diversity. Bevan will continue to report to Nancy Davies, Vice President, Retail Market Development.

Neil Swartz, Corporate Manager, Corporate Services is appointed to the newly created position of General Manager, Advantex Division. Advantex is a joint project of Toyota and a number of its suppliers, including Denso Sales of California, Aisin World Corporation of America and others to market replacement components to aftermarket installers under the Advantex Brand.

Gloria Jahn, Corporate Manager, Corporate Communications, is appointed Corporate Manager, Corporate Services, replacing Swartz and reporting to Bob Pitts, Group Vice President, Administrative Services.

Michael Rouse, Corporate Manager, Customer Relations is appointed Corporate Manager, Corporate Affairs, replacing Jahn and reporting to Irv Miller, Group Vice President, Corporate Communications.

Alok Vaish, National Procurement and Business Applications Manager is promoted to Corporate Manager, Procurement. Vaish will continue to report to Jane Beseda, Vice President, North American Parts Operations.

Karen Nocket, Chief Architect, Information Systems, is promoted to the newly created position of Corporate Manager, Enterprise Architecture. Nocket will continue to report to Barbra Cooper, Group Vice President and Chief Information Officer.

Mike Michels, National Manager, External Communications, is promoted to the newly created position of Corporate Manager, External Communications, responsible for product news, media relations and field PR operations. Michels will continue to report to Miller.
