OSHKOSH, Wis.--June 24, 2002--Oshkosh Truck Corporation's European subsidiary, Geesink Norba Group, a leading European manufacturer of refuse collection vehicles, announced today that the City of Munich (Germany) has ordered 30 Geesink brand refuse collection vehicles. These GPM rear-loading models are designed for heavy-duty pick-up of residential and industrial waste. The units will join 12 other Geesink units in the fleet.
"We're delighted that Geesink Norba Group's long-time dedication to quality and reliability, combined with our recent investments in production automation, have helped us earn a major order from Munich," said Robert G. Bohn, Oshkosh's chairman, president and chief executive officer. "Munich's confidence speaks volumes about our ability to deliver value to all of our customers."
The flexibility and performance capabilities of the rear loaders' GCB1000 split lifting device were a major purchase consideration in Munich's selection of Geesink equipment.
