FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WOODSIDE NOTCHES FIFTH PLACE AT SEARS POINT,
MOVES TO SECOND IN CHAMPIONSHIP BATTLE
June 22, 2002 (Saugus, Calif.) - NASCAR driver Sean Woodside piloted his #45
Lucas Oil/Ron's Rear Ends Chevrolet to a fifth-place finish in today's
Snap-On Tools/Jelly Belly 200 at Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.
The top-five finish pushed Woodside back up to second-place in the
Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring championship race, just 28
points out of the lead. Woodside has held a top points position in the
series since the beginning of the season.
"We had a good day...the car was good, nothing broke, and we were running
toward the front," Woodside commented. "We are pleased to have been able to
give our new sponsor, Lucas Oil, this kind of representation."
He continued, "Thanks to my crew for all their hard work. And, I'd like to
give a special thanks to Ron's Rear Ends and to Bill Maropulos. This track a
lot of fun, and one of my favorite road courses. It is also hard on engines
and rear ends. Their equipment was definitely up to the job today."
The Snap-On Tools/Jelly Belly 200 will be televised on the Speed Channel on
July 15, 2002 at 8:00 p.m. EDT.
